Brat Dawgz is a new ‘breaking’ crew in Kolkata. Manish and Akshit both were solo dancers and they decided to start a new breaking crew in Calcutta because the scene here is pretty much nascent. So, on 1st May, we started this out. Brat Dawgz as in ‘Brats’, we all are brats here, and ‘Dawgz’, it kind of symbolizes hip-hop. They all work out together to do all their music to choreography. 4 people in the crew, 4 different religions, almost from 4 corners of the city, these people came together through their dance acquaintances and competitions. They call themselves a family, with 4 different esp. They are confident to go high and stand out among other crews because they practice everyday.

Crafts of Kammotionn
CKN is a
hip-hop dance crew of Kolkata and they earned the title ‘Best Dance Crew’ in
Kolkata in the dance battle 'Rasta Jam 2011'. Starting from a rivalry between
two best dance crews of Kolkata, the convergence of the two brought into being ‘THE’
dance crew of Kolkata. Dancing since 13th March 2011, they stand strong with
only a 1 or 2 loss. Many changes came through their line-up but everyone in
this group from the very first, till now, remain as a complete family.

student to a journalist, a journalist to an author, Aryani Banerjee has just
published her first book. After finishing her schooling from St. Paul’s, Aryani
studied political science and Journalism- film studies from the St. Xavier’s
Calcutta. Then she did her masters from Times School Of Journalism, New Delhi. After a long
journey Aryani pens down her first book and she shares some of her memories
with us.

- How was the journey from being a doctor to an aspiring author?
- It was very smooth. It was never an either or scenario for me. I had a creative side of me that wanted to tell stories and I wanted to fulfill that calling. So, that is how the first book came into being because finally I had got a story that I really want to tell.

radio, what makes it so special are you people, the Radio Jockeys. So what made
you choose this as your profession?
I
honestly never thought of taking up radio jockeying as a career. Even though I
did study journalism and films in college and wanted to be a part of the social
media. But Radio Mirchi happened to me at a time when I was willing to
experiment. Thank God back then I took the right decision, because honestly I
love and enjoy doing my job.
